Accountant with responsibility for deputy head of the accounts department

Your responsibilities

• Independently managing day-to-day bookkeeping, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank accounts, cash management and fixed asset accounting, as well as preparing payment transactions.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, as well as annual financial statements in accordance with the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB), including reconciled accounts, accruals and provisions, in collaboration with the tax consultancy.
• Preparation of VAT and statistical returns, in particular the VAT return (UVA), the recapitulative statement and, where applicable, Intrastat.
• Supporting and standing in for the Head of Accounting within the agreed area of responsibility, as well as liaising with the team and the tax consultancy.
• Actively developing and digitising accounting processes.

What you’ll need

• Completed commercial training, for example at a HAK or a relevant degree programme, or an equivalent qualification; a qualified accountant’s qualification would be an advantage.
• Several years’ relevant professional experience, as well as a sound knowledge of accounting in accordance with the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB) and VAT.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel, as well as an interest in digital workflows.
• An independent, meticulous and responsible approach to work, a team spirit and clear communication skills.
